Array The LCD and TFT screens never achieved the quality of paper used to print books: a nice white background and black letters and colour illustrations. My unwrapping party was spoiled and I knew that this was not going to be a plug-and-play device, but a project under construction. No flickering at all and nice sharp fonts.Once I had the reader working, I loaded some pdf formatted books and brochures on a USB stick. But that is all that is being said in the quick guide about entering books by USB sticks. And the pages showed up.So last week took another step in the iLiad saga and moved into the downloading of the latest software version and downloaded some books from my computer. But with the procedures of downloading software of the second wave electronic books like Rocket books and Soft books, I linked the device to the computer. However I could download books, but not the software.

I prepared the ground with a hoe, and then I had to cut the sod to fit the oddly shaped bed. I soon perfected my technique: I would place the blade of the hoe over the sod, and then step down hard on the top of the blade to slice through. Only a few more cuts… I positioned the hoe, and gave a good hard stamp.Have you ever seen a cartoon where some poor hapless fool steps on a hoe, and then the handle comes up and whacks him?How fast the end of the handle was moving, I don’t know, but it wouldn’t surprise me if someone on the cul-de-sac had heard a sonic boom that evening.

So neat!I actually had the presence of mind to do my stroke like I’ve practiced in the pool, shooting my arm out & down instead of smacking it against the surface in energy-sucking windmilling. For those of you interested, I wore my full wetsuit (my lovely new XTerra Vector Pro2) because I wanted the full-length arms and two swim caps.Last week was a good training week in that I made it to the pool, lifted weights, ran, and did a spin class. through the snow!) while in Yosemite for the vet conference (day one about 3 miles, day two about 5 miles, and day three about 7.5-8 miles). We took the shuttle bus to the Happy Isles/ Mirror Lake stop then hike up past Mirror Lake to the big bridge across Tenaya Creek.

-ne Hutchison touts I-69 project at regional transportation meetingBy MELISSA TRESNERLongview News=JournalCopyrignt 2005TYLER – Planes, trains and automobiles were the topics of discussion for U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and local and state lawmakers Friday at a regional transportation summit in Tyler.Hutchison, R-Texas, who outlined recent federal transportation legislation, was the keynote speaker during the daylong conference at Tyler’s Holiday Inn Select.“Transportation is our lifeblood, and we will never walk away from our responsibility to protect it,” Hutchison said on behalf of her colleagues in Washington.Sponsored by the East Texas Council of Governments and the East Texas Rural Transit District, Destination East Texas: “Moving People” attracted about 230 city and county officials in addition to industry leaders and experts. End of statement,” Hutchison said.Hutchison expressed her opinions about rail travel, as well, saying more people would take advantage of Amtrak’s passenger rail if it were more reliable.“If we had a fair shot at on-time performance and funding, Amtrak would be a viable transportation opportunity,” she said. She said the federal government spends 0 billion annually on highways, 5 billion on airports and only billion on Amtrak.During eight break-out sessions throughout the day, local leaders and transportation officials met in smaller groups of about 10 to 30 to discuss a variety of issues.Dietrich Johnson, the director of public transportation for the city of Longview, sat on one panel devoted to developing a regional transit plan for East Texas.Officials from the city of Denton were on-hand in another morning session titled Making the Transition to Alternative Fueled Vehicles to give East Texas city council members and county commissioners a glimpse of Denton’s newly-opened Biodiesel Production Facility.

Instead of attacking our presidents resolve,” RNC spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt said in a statement, “Democrats might want to focus on the debate within their own party.”While Governor Dean may be right in taking the position that ultimately it is the responsibility of the maladministration who got us into this mess to fix it, that should not stop the Democrats in office from debating the issue loudly when the next military appropriations bill comes to the floor. While it may be embarrassing for those in Congress who voted to give President Bush the authority to go to war in the first place, that should not stop the Democrats from pointing out that they were lied to and misled by the administration so determined to invade Iraq that it fixed the facts to get that vote.People continue to die in Iraq every day we occupy the country, and I think it clear that will continue until we leave.

WIND EXPERIENCE: Navegar a vela a 47 nudos

Array Here are some of my ruminations on this discussion.Journey of a (“Self-Hating”) JewDavid RovicsThere are few issues more divisive in US society, including on the left, than the issue of Israel and Palestine. When people are thus threatened, oppressed, and ultimately slaughtered in their millions, this sort of thing tends to bring people together to attempt to defend themselves. There is no oppression to speak of in the US or Europe directed at people based on their Jewish or Christian identity, any more than there is still oppression against people of Irish or Italian descent. Regardless of the definition, there is plenty of common history for Jews anywhere, but like Catholics, Poles or whoever else in the modern US, Jews do not have a common identity in terms of their politics, professions, geography, etc. Three people came to hand out literature about my alleged anti-Semititic views to people coming to the show. These three people were in a group that called itself The Jewish Community, as I recall. But in the civilized discussion that followed my concert, it turned out that there were more than three people of Jewish lineage in the crowd who were not members of The Jewish Community and didn’t share their views on Israel. It didn’t seem to me that these Jews were any less Jewish than The Jewish Community — they just weren’t in a group that called itself The Jewish Community. This also, it seems to me, is the distinction between groups like AIPAC and the rest of the Jewish population. category has expanded to include light-skinned Jews and other historically-oppressed ethnic and religious groups such as Irish and Italian Catholics. This is not to say that white people don’t suffer from discrimination. As a youthful, long-haired hippie driving an old beat-up car, I was pulled over by the cops many times more than most other white people, probably for all of those offenses – He also told me that he had found out during the last year or so of her life that she was not from England — she was a German Jew. For whatever reason, she had hidden her identity from everyone, her friends, her family. She told her son on her deathbed about how her society, Germany, had rejected her. Perhaps the rejection was too much to bear, and she had to try to forget about her past, her German and Jewish identity. could in some measure apply to this wonderful, vibrant, but apparently troubled woman, although the term seems far too simplistic to fit such a complex person so full of love for humanity.Perhaps it was experiences she had after arriving in the US that strengthened her resolve to keep her ethnic and national identity hidden. Her mother died soon after the war, and I don’t know how much Diane tried to get back in touch with her relatives across the ocean, but she said she never heard from any of them, and presumed them all to be dead.Grandma Diane’s Jewish identity was always terribly complex for her. In every community she visited there were either too many Jews or not enough Jews. She was traumatized by her family history and by the Nazi holocaust, but she wanted to put it behind her. We haven’t spoken in years, but from what I understand, for her and her synogogue in New Jersey, criticism of Israel is completely unacceptable, there is no room for debate. For people like Judy, “never again” People like Judy invent all kinds of outrageous theories to justify the fundamentally racist movement that has led to the state of Israel. There are no Palestinians, they’re all Arabs, and the 800 million Arabs in the world all hate Jews and want to “drive the Jews into the sea.” These people have decided that the solution to their perceived problems lies in the oppression of another people. Other times the oppression of a people leads to an ongoing struggle for justice that goes on for decades, such as the Palestinian struggle for self-determination. Of course, such people have existed since long before the Nazi holocaust, but the holocaust also was responsible for creating lots more of them. People who believe oppression should be opposed in all it’s forms, and those struggling for their lives and liberty should be supported. The biggest contingents of people ready to die in the fight against fascism came from Germany and Italy. Yes, he was Jewish, and like so many Jews and so many other people of his generation, he was a communist first and foremost.Bob was a very stoic man, by his own admission. Whether they are being killed, doing the killing, or giving the orders to fire.I was uncertain what to do when in 1999 I received an invitation from the Israeli Folk Music Society to do a tour of Israel that they would set up. It was after 1973 that he had an awakening, and came to recognize the brutal reality of the Israeli occupation.I met some other fairly decent folks there, but most people I encountered seemed to be right out of a Klan rally in 1950’s Alabama. As long as I sang about oppression elsewhere in the world people loved it. A handful of Israelis were killed by the Scud missiles, a few years after Israel had itself bombed Iraq, and the Israelis had to sleep in bomb shelters, all emerging safely the next morning, unlike the Iraqis who were being killed in their hundreds of thousands, including those incinerated by the US Air Force while hiding in their bomb shelters. But for these people, the suffering of the Iraqis simply was irrelevant. The Iraqis didn’t matter, they all wanted to kill the Jews, even the Iraqi children, I was told there to my unbelieving face.My German girlfriend was with me on that tour. Palestinians inside and outside Israel traumatized by ongoing oppression of so many sorts, and Jews traumatized by living in the war zone they created when they declared their “independence” From most of the presenters there, and then from other supporters of Israel from the US and elsewhere, I started receiving emails regularly calling me a self-hating Jew, a neofascist, a fascist, a Nazi, etc. This is a place under occupation by a massive, fundamentally racist military power. Most people in the world with a knowledge of world events recognize the situation for what it is. Most people in Europe do not have any problems with Jews. As much as German society suffered from the Allied bombardments, from a generation of young men being sent off to kill and be killed in battle, from so many non-Jewish Germans also being killed in the camps, Germans as a whole are even more paralyzed with an unbearable guilt about the genocide of their Jewish brethren. Whereas the left throughout almost the entire world is critical of Israel and supports Palestinian sovereignty, the German left is largely quiet about it, or actively and uncritically supporting Israel.I remember one guy in the neighborhood in Hamburg where I spent quite a bit of time, who had a radio show at the local free radio station (equivalent of what we’d call community radio in the US). To dare to have a Palestinian doctor with no Israeli to somehow balance out his views was unacceptable. Many Germans on the left who have dared to try to be consistent internationalists in solidarity with oppressed people around the world, and have included Palestinians within that worldview, have suffered similar fates. And, consistent with the rest of their principles around anti-racism and Third World liberation, at the top of their flagship squat in Hamburg, Haffenstrasse, were two words that shocked German society probably more than anything else coming from the Autonomen: “free Palestine.”But with the decline of the Autonomen has come, among other things, the rise of a uniquely German organization known as the Anti-Deutsche.I’ll be returning to Germany for the G8 protests this summer, but the last time I was there was several years ago, and the last concert I did there was in the town of Marburg. Some people didn’t go to the show as a result, I don’t know how many. The flyers claimed I was an anti-Semite. Also, since I opposed the war in Iraq, I was an anti-Semite, since the war in Iraq was being waged to benefit Israel, and therefore it was good, and therefore the US should be supported most of the time, and Israel all of the time. It’s convoluted logic that most people outside of Germany can see through, but in Germany this logic plays pretty well. We are traumatized because our people killed millions of Jews, therefore we must support the traumatized victims of the Nazi holocaust as they act out their displaced feelings of aggression towards us and focus them against the Palestinians, slaughtering thousands of them annually and making sure the rest live in a state of squalor.Jews like my aunt or like so many Israelis say “never again to us,” The thing that allows people like me to sleep well at night, though, is having the knowledge that not only is this the moral view, the view that is easier to live with as a human being with a conscience, but it is also the sensible understanding of history and reality. Blinded by rage, trauma, or guilt, what the pro-Israel people apparently don’t see is that no matter what you do, a subjugated people will fight back.

Of course, we already know that Peter Roskam is going to tow the party line on this one and vote to support the surge without reservation, and it is the without reservation that is the problem. But, given that congress is doing so little, perhaps this is a good time to look at some national news that relates to some issues that congress SHOULD be addressing. Now, not to idealize places like London by denying that there is violence, the level of violence is far less, and the level of gun violence in way less. Of course, when you also see how he has voted as far as gay rights, or fudning for supporting programs that serve the poor (and the children of the poor - the most vulnerable in our society), it might be fair to say that what Peter values is equally opportunity and protection for all fetuses and stem cells, but when it comes to a walking, talking and breathing human, it’s ok to deny rights, opportunities, and protections.

So, Now 11 points for a win and 5 for a loss in the Super Bowl.I have been asked why no points are given for wins in the Wildcard round, but I decided that would not make sense with the idea that the playoffs have grown over the years and there is no way to equalize a smaller field to a larger one. #3 - The San Francisco 49ersTotal Points: 85Total Playoff Years: 70C, 71C, 72, 81S, 83C, 84S, 85, 86, 87, 88S, 89S, 90C, 92C, 93C, 94S, 95, 96, 97C, 98, 01, 02The first team to win 5 Super Bowls, and still undefeated in the Super Bowl at 5-0, the 49ers resume is solid. They get the tie-breaker with the Rams for #9 due to the total number of Super Bowl wins (3) to the Rams (1).#10 - The St Louis/Los Angeles RamsTotal Points: 50Total Playoff Years: 67, 69, 73, 74C, 75C, 76C, 77, 78C, 79SL, 80, 83, 84, 85C, 86, 88, 89C, 99S, 00, 01SL, 03, 04 There is no question that the Rams and the Vikings have some of the best consistent quality over the course of the last 40 years. Snakebit is an understatement.#12 - Indianapolis/Baltimore ColtsTotal Points: 47Total Playoff Years: 68SL, 70S, 71C, 75, 76, 77, 87, 95C, 96, 99, 00, 02, 03C, 04, 05, 06S With 11 big points in 2007, the Colts are fresh off their First Super Bowl win in 36 years. And with him in his prime, they will be higher up this list in no time.#13 - The New York GiantsTotal Points: 36Total Playoff Years: 81, 84, 85, 86S, 89, 90S, 93, 97, 00SL, 02, 05, 06The Giants won two Super Bowls in 5 years (lest we forget) and compiled many points during the Parcells years. All Hail, Tony Dungy and Jon Gruden as the uniform change has changed the fortune of this floor mat of the 1980’s.#22 The San Diego ChargersTotal Points: 17Total Playoff Years: 79, 80C, 81C, 82, 92, 94SL, 95, 04, 06With many years of decent teams that never did much in the playoffs, the Chargers have scored some points - just not as many as they would have liked. But they always had nice uniforms.#23 - The Cincinnati BengalsTotal Points: 16Total Playoff Years: 70, 73, 75, 81SL, 82, 88SL, 90, 05Despite 15 seasons between playoff years from 1990-2005, the Bengals used two Super Bowl losses in the 1980’s to grab a decent position. The Super Bowl Loss in SB33 and the Championship Game Loss in 2004 are the high water marks for them.#27 - Carolina PanthersTotal Points: 11Total Playoff Years: 96C, 03SL, 05CEvery time that the Panthers have made the playoffs, they have won at least one game. And, given that they are only a decade old and have somehow been to three NFC Championship games points to the horrid histories of Arizona and Detroit.#28 - Detroit LionsTotal Points: 11Total Playoff Years: 70, 82, 83, 91C, 93, 94, 95, 97, 99Detroit has managed to make the playoffs a few times, especially in the Barry Sanders era. Maybe the saddest franchise in all of sports.#32 – The Houston TexansTotal Points: 0Total Playoff Years: NoneKind of unfair since the Texans have not existed for very long, but 0 points means they have never made the playoffs, so it is tough to make that sound any better than it is. Year followed by “C” means they lost in the Conference Championship Game (3 points), Year followed by “SL” means they lost the Super Bowl (5 points), and Year followed by “S” means they won the Super Bowl (11 points).

Fomca: Halt monopolistic moves by banks Claudia Theophilus Dec 13, 04 4:41pm The government must ensure that banking services are managed in a just and fair manner so that the financial services sector can compete globally, said the Federation of Malaysian Consumers Association (Fomca). For a start, Fomca wants a stop to all proposals for service charges for non-banking transactions and to gradually lower the other service charges, so that banks offer innovative services that generate revenue and increase efficiency. “Lower charges should be imposed for Internet banking transactions, similar to developments in the securities trading sector and commission for airline ticketing agents.” On the RM1 charge per withdrawal at another bank’s ATM, he said, only serves to reduce the efficiency and competitiveness of the banks. “This burdens them while banks chase unreasonable profits for every facility they offer, setting aside the social responsibility to expand their services to all parts of the country.” Muhammad Sha’ani said some banks impose a service charge for current accounts that discriminate against customers with a low account balance.

Begin forwarded message: > From: Pablo Kala > Date: 1 December 2004 11:14:39 AM > To: pga-asia@cupboard.org, caravan99@lists.riseup.net, > pga-asia@lists.riseup.net > Subject: [caravan99] PGA report from SE Asia > > Firends: Pasted is my final PGA report from Asia, based upon my work here over the past few months. in solidarity Pablo PGA Report from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia Pablo Kala (PGA Asia support group) A series of very constructive meetings took place between Lek (Thai Labour Campaign, PGA Asia support group), Pablo (PGA Asia support group) and members of the Assembly of the Poor. Pablo explained the history and workings of PGA and discussed the outcomes from the PGA Asian and Gender conference in Dhaka. (iii) interviews with Nusser Yeemah (Friends of the Poor) and Kanjana Malaihom (Slum dwellers network) (both involved in Assembly of the Poor) about the Dhaka conference and discussions about setting up the PGA Asia website. The Northern Farmer’s Federation – part of AoP - is an umbrella organization which includes the NFA (lowland farmers) and the NFN (Karen farmers). While there, Pablo and Lek visited land occupations in the Lamphun area, Mae Khapu village (in the Karen hill tribe area), and Ban Pong village. This land has been abandoned by companies who had bought the land during the land boom of the late 1980’s. In 1989 the government began issuing land titles to companies which encroached upon land for which villagers had been granted cultivation rights by the government since 1965. The villagers believe that there should be no titles to the land, only cultivation rights for villagers (who have lived from the land in the area for generations), and are currently awaiting a government committee report into the land disputes. Sukaew, who is a member of that committee, is one of many villagers facing 43 separate court cases for the occupying the land. In Makhapu, Pati, the Karen village head, explained how 100 local villagers had been occupying land in 2003 which had been sold to private companies for strawberry plantations. Pablo gave a workshop (with Lek translating into Thai) to 80-90 activists from the Northern Farmer’s Alliance (NFA, part of the AoP network) at their training school, about grassroots struggles around the world, PGA, and nonviolent direct action. Concerning the PGA conference in Dhaka, Vu Le thought that not enough ‘big’ issues were discussed, that the PGA gender workshops were too conceptual, and there was too much local/community experiences shared, rather than discussion of the big issues. When asked about the usefulness of PGA to the VNFU, Vu Le replied: “Vietnam farmers are not so interested in movements (like PGA), they are more interested in access to markets, how to sell their products, and access to technology”. The legal designation of land in Sarawak has increasingly changed from “Native Customary Rights” (where farmers had a legal right to own, plough and develop the land) to “ Native Customary Land” (where the government of the day has the right to the land and can therefore develop it however it chose, irrespective of the wishes of local communities). While in Sarawak, I visited three communities, each involved in a land struggle. Over 50 families have been displaced and only 22 families remain in the forest that remains (which comprises 400 acres, or 10% of the original land area). Migrant labourers (from India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, China, and the Philippines) work on the plantation, have poisoned the rivers, hunt the few remaining wild animals such as the moss deer, and stolen crops from the community land. Currently a court case is pending concerning who has legal right to the remaining Bidayuh land. Second, I visited the kampong of Tambirat where Malaya Muslim farmers recently won a court case against the government over ownership of land that had been leased to Chinese entrepreneurs 60 years ago. The government wants the Iban to lease them the land for 60 years, so that they can attract foreign investors to develop the land. The idea would be that the Iban would become wage labourers on the plantation (for 12 Ringgit a day), and, after 60 years, the monocultured, poisoned land would be returned to them. By trying to get the Iban to lease them the land, the government is exempted from paying the Iban any compensation. Ahmad and I stayed in the longhouse of the village headman, where we had a long meeting with 23 villagers, during which we discussed the struggle, and I gave a talk about PGA.

They gave Scott Peterson the death penalty for killing his wife and unborn child. I’ve been trying to figure out if I can retire now and have enough money to live to be 100. If the market give 10% a year and I live cheaply, I can make it. Apparently, he’s figured out how to live on 5,000 a year. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can live in a manner to which I’ve become accustomed at 5K/year. The harder part will be convincing my wife to give it a try.

Welcome to Costa Rica, a place where National Parks cover over 15% of the land, where the military has been dismantled for over 50 years, and where there are trees that can use their roots to walk through the jungle. We have spent our last week or so in this wonderful country, and it has been an ideal place to end our time in Central America and to prepare for the transition to our next grand continent to our south. Since Costa Rica had just decided to dismantle its national Army in 1948, the country seemed like a good choice, a place where they could share and promote peace together, and the awe inspiring green hills of Monteverde make you feel like you’re right in the middle of Psalm 23. The Quakers, or Society of Friends, is a Chistian community that believes strongly in peace, and works through various means to promote ways that people can live together and find reconciliation, both at the level of their community and in broader social structures. I think that it was around this time that I really started to realize that Costa Rica is a special and unique place. This country just feels more inviting and friendly than most of Central America, and it seems somewhat ironic that we feel the most secure in a place that has invested the least in national security. And compared to its neighboring nations, Costa Rica reports one of the most peaceful histories and has invested time and money into proactively working at promoting reconciliation in the region. Levi & Mildred Friesen and their seven children have been living simply on their farm for a number of years now, sustaining their lifestyle by growing rice and working faithfully through each day, receiving the blessings for each hard day’s work. Our introduction to the mindset of Costa Rica came on their farm, sharing the days with the family over wonderful home-cooked meals, learning a bits and pieces about farm work, riding the combine through the rice fields, and helping to right a banana truck that didn’t quite make it around a turn. Warner absolutely loves living and working on the mountain, his gateway to heaven, and is passionate about sharing his faith and lifestyle with anyone that finds their way up to the top. Set apart from the distractions and busyness of the world, he explained how the tranquillity of the location helps to keep him closer to God, and as two wearly travelers that are constantly being more drawn to place of retreat and natural beauty, we felt right at home. Jon has developed this location for his Tree of Life Tours, and allows people to come there when they feel the need to get away, for reasons such as escaping an addiction or trying to find God for the first or thousandth time.

Alaska Road Trip: Day 23 -27(Tuesday, July 13, 2004):

Array-ne (Los Angeles, California) Ron England has amassed 3.6 tons of copper in his garage in the Los Angeles suburb of Granada Hills after making a bet with his brother 30 years ago that he could collect 1 million pennies. use it to buy something costing .99 and get a sawbuck as change.Besides lessening the reliance on pennies, which have become so useless that store owners leave bowls of them by cash registers and they can be found in stacks by pay phones, the gipper would save countless employee hours now consumed by making change and tallying, reconciling and wrapping Lincolns at end-of-shift. Once the gipper’s usefulness is demonstrated, in those jurisdictions where sales tax is a fact of life many merchandisers will be inspired to include the levy in the price of goods, conveniencing consumers even more.Of course, not everything can be priced *.99, and the gipper is not proposed as a total solution to the penny problem.

We all started out about 8:30, headed for the North Pole to take picture for Maryellen’s CHEER group (cardiac health group).  It was at times comical, at times frustrating and sometimes heated, but we finally took the time (thanks, Sandy, for asking for directions) to find the welcome sign to the North Pole.  A group picture was taken and we think it looks pretty good, Maryellen! 11:00 – we arrived at Delta Junction (end of the Alcan) after taking some time to view the Alaskan Range Mountains and the pipeline suspended over Tanana River.    8.25 hours     Day 24 (Wednesday, July 14, 2004) 9:00 – headed out again, another beautiful day.    9..24 hours   Day 25 (Thursday, July 15, 2004) 8:40 – starting our last day with Zach and Ren.  We waited 10 minutes for the pilot car and then it took about 30 minutes to get through the construction.  This section of the Alcan takes us through the mountain ranges of Sentinel and Stone.  The road took us around Muncho Lake, with its deep green and blue waters.  Once out of the mountain ranges, we had straight road, but it went up through Trutch  We are finding that we’d like to come back when we have a lot more time and take some of these little side trips to really get the feel of this highway.    54 mph, 8.5 hours     Gary and I are headed for Dawson Creek, the end (or beginning) of the Alaska Highway.  We had our picture taken at the Mile 0 marker, then went down the street to the original Mile 0 marker, which is in the middle of the street at an intersection.    8.5 hours     Day 27 (Saturday, July 17, 2004) Headed out at 7:30 and ended our day at 9:00!

Array We bought 10 acres, including the house and 3 barns in various states of disrepair. So, I’ve been with this land for about a year and a half, and living on it for about 7 months. And I love this land.It struck me that 39 of the 40 acres have a similar monetary value to that one other acre. Heck, one quarter acre holds almost the value of the other 39 3/4 acres.

Ultimately, those whom you see around you as very effective, organized, on-the-ball, etc., have created their own systems by fusing best practices from one or more good systems, coupled with their own intuition about what works.Often, the best systems are those that we look at and think, This is all common sense!. This releases a tremendous amount of energy and mental clarity. Now of course, this only works if your brain trusts that where you’ve recorded stuff is really a safe and reliable system - otherwise your subconscious will again attempt to be that record keeping system - having lost faith in a feeble attempt to relieve it of this duty. Most of GTD is geared toward building a reliable set of trustworthy and effective systems for dealing with the inflow of tasks, commitments, projects, etc.David Allen has a website and you can find his book on Amazon.

-ne The Champions League is not a champions league. The vast majority of the teams featuring in the competition aren’t champions. And it is not a league in the traditional sense where all the teams play each other and whoever finishes top of the table at the end of it are declared champions.A tournament that is close to allowing dire teams like Everton or Bolton the possibilty of entry should never be named the ‘champions’ league. They do not merit to be associated with the term ‘champions’.Last year Chelsea reached the semis of the ‘champions league’. I could even accept this concept being inflated to accept runners-up of the domestic leagues, because there is merit in coming so close to domestic glory.Teams who at no time have looked like viable contenders of their domestic league should never be allowed to play in the top competition in Europe.

For everyone’s information in the regular season each team plays 162 games that is nearly a game a day from April to the first week of October. There was a wonderful atmosphere. The game of baseball would take me an age to explain. But for simplicity the game consists of 9 innings and can take upto 3 1/2 hours to complete (time flies though). But alas they came up short and the game ended 6-5.Saturday and Sunday it was the same 2 teams at it again. A baseball team has a squad of 25 players so there was only a handful of the same players that played the whole 3 games. That they give their all and play the game (no matter what it is) the way the game is meant to be played.
